Joseph Balinda

Board Member

Joseph works as a Correctional Service Worker (Case Worker) with the Ministry of Justice & Solicitor General, Government of Alberta. Joseph was born in Uganda and now lives in Edmonton with his wife and three daughters. Joseph graduated in Finance & Business Computing from Makerere University Business School in Uganda, and holds a B.A. (Hons.), Criminology from the University of Toronto. Joseph is the Founder/President of The Balinda children’s Foundation Canada, a Canadian charity that provides healthcare, education and livelihoods support to orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda. Joseph is very passionate about giving opportunities to orphans/poor children having grown up as an orphan himself. His work with Sunrise of Life is motivated by the organization’s passion for improving the lives of street children in Tanzania and Africa at large, in order for them to become productive members of society.
